The Not-Me! Situation Diagram
The left side of this diagram shows the Four Steps of Violent Assault from the Aggressor's viewpoint. It begins with the Aggressor’s motivation to commit the crime. This is followed by the step during which the Aggressor selects his potential victim. The third step is the physical assault which is triggered by the opportunity to attack. The final step involves the submission of the victim and the completion of the crime.

The right side of the diagram shows how the Not-Me! system is used against each step of the Four Steps of Violent Assault. While the Aggressor is deciding to commit the crime, we decide not to be a victim. When the Aggressor is determining his victim, we deter him from selecting us. When the Aggressor is attempting to physical assault us, we deny him the opportunity and disrupt his plan, and before the Aggressor can complete his crime, we disengage and get away.
